Our Story
A quarter-century in the same chair
Rising Phoenix opened its doors in Addison in 1998, and we have been tattooing and piercing the western suburbs ever since. What started as one studio with a simple idea—do great work and treat people right—has grown into one of DuPage County’s established tattoo and piercing destinations, with generations of clients who continue to return.
Phil and Sara have owned and operated Rising Phoenix since 2016. Phil is a U.S. Army veteran and professional piercer, while Sara is an operating-room RN whose precision and exacting safety mindset help shape how the studio is run. Together, they continue the professional standards Addison has trusted since 1998.
Most of all, we want Rising Phoenix to feel welcoming. Whether this is your first tattoo or your fortieth, you will find an honest, judgment-free space where the artists take your idea seriously and make the process understandable from the moment you walk in.
